Forlong! Tolkien Illustration

I am a huge fan of Tolkien (and if you don't know who that is 1) shame on you and 2) google that shit) I read the following description and thought it was awesome.. also I have never done anything with Tolkien's stuff before- good to start small with that kind of thing I suppose .

"Leading the line there came walking a big thick-limbed horse, and on it sat a man of wide shoulders and huge girth, but old and grey-bearded, yet mail-clad and black-helmed and brearing a long heavy spear. . . 'Forlong!' men shouted. 'True heart, true friend'." - Tolkien

Re-vamped Thom Yorke

I worked this over because it was not "fitting" with the rest- heres what I came up with. I will definitely be working over some others to make them up to par, I forgot how much fun it is doing these things! (New is on the left)

2010 NHIA View Book

So, I'm excited I made the school's View Book for next year. This isn't that big of a deal, but it's always fun to have some recognition.

Sketch Book

I have not been idle! Just lazy with scanning- these are some recent sketchbook pieces that I have been working on- I have tried to get back into really filling a sketchbook page and sticking with some drawing and trying to a whole piece out of it even though it remains in the sketch stage- I might play with some of them in photoshop as well. .

Also, I have started to draw in PEN so I am practicing both not erasing and forcing myself to continue drawing through mistakes.. of which are plentiful and often.

sketch #1

This is a sketch for a piece I plan on doing in the near future- I thought of a robot kind of graffiti-styled helmet- this is my first sketch for it- took about 2 hours- I hope to render out the final work.

Back to Graff!

I haven't done a graff (graffiti) piece in a long time- so I rifled through some old sketch books and found one I wanted to color- here it is.... worked out well, had a lot of fun- I am working on another one right now- but its a little more complicated than this was.. but hope you enjoy it!

Street Fighter Coloring Challenge

So I found this artist named Alvin Lee online- his penciling skills for comic book art is kick-ass.. I'd advise you go to his website if you like that sort of thing ( Alvinleeart.com) - check out his drawings..

anyways- he had a coloring contest for one of the posters he made (above) and I decided to enter and toss my own color scheme to it- I have been slowly working on it over the last few months and this is how it came out- the resolution is not very good in the image above, I had to shrink it quite a bit to fit the 1M. size qualification- but it was really cool because I have never worked on anything like this before. I had tons-o-fun. I will be posting more graff-related work on here soon too. words
